SF Projects+ at Art Basel
Haus Vischer Weber, June 2026
At Haus Vischer Weber, SF Projects+ transforms a private Basel residence into a living salon where art, conversation, and collective memory unfold through personal connections and shared experiences.
‘The salon has long functioned as a technology for the production of unofficial knowledge. As a space where what cannot be said elsewhere gets said, where memory is made collectively, and where the guest list is itself an argument about whose culture matters. From A’Lelia Walker’s Dark Tower in 1920s Harlem, where the entire Harlem Renaissance was arguably talked into being, to James Baldwin’s welcome table in Provence, to Simone Leigh convening over a hundred Black women artists at the New Museum in 2016, the salon has operated as a counter-archival site: relational, embodied, and resistant to standardization.
This is precisely what makes it the right model for Haus Vischer Weber’s show on collective memory. At a moment when the curatorial statement identifies the risk of AI flattening the diversity of human experience into a single global version, the salon proposes the opposite. A space where plurality is not preserved in a database but activated in a room, through the friction and resonance of people who would not otherwise be in the same house.‘

In Frequencies We Cannot Name: Language, Sound, Silence
de Brakke Grond, Amsterdam, March 7 – May 10, 2026
Curated by Rita Ouédraogo, the second edition in a three-year collaboration between de Brakke Grond and Mu.ZEE (Ostend), inviting a different Dutch curator each year to develop an exhibition from the Mu.ZEE collection. Bringing together sixteen artists, including Otobong Nkanga, Sammy Baloji, Pascale Marthine Tayou, Saddie Choua, and Pei-Hsuan Wang. The exhibition explores language as never neutral, carrying traces of power, colonial history, and the limits of translation. Drawing on Édouard Glissant's concept of opacity and Rizvana Bradley's theory of anteaesthetics, the show treats the absence of direct legibility not as a shortcoming but as a space for encounter and other forms of knowledge. Accompanied by a three-part public programme (Language, Sound, Silence) developed around key themes in the exhibition.

#80 The Belly of Momo
Buro Stedelijk, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, November 2025–January 2026
The final manifestation of Buro Stedelijk's three-year founding term. Curaçao-born, Amsterdam-based artist Kevin Osepa transformed the Central Space into an immersive Caribbean landscape, shared with sound artist Rozaly and multidisciplinary artist Lakisha Apostel. Drawing on Curaçao's Karnaval figure King Momo — whose puppet dies and rises again each year, embodying a cyclical truth that endings contain future beginnings — the exhibition explored Caribbean identity, spirituality, and resistance through disruptive photography, sound, and ritual. The opening featured a performance by Lakisha Apostel and Kevin Osepa with a soundscape by Rozaly.

#59 Keti Koti Westerpark x Kunsttraject X Gilleam Trapenberg
Buro Stedelijk, Staatsliedenbuurt, Amsterdam, June–September 2024
Photographer Gilleam Trapenberg's series New Suns, shown 24/7 in the windows of Kunsttraject as part of Keti Koti Westerpark. Started in 2018 out of a longing for Curaçao, the island where Trapenberg grew up, the series questions the Caribbean sun as a symbol of exoticism, commercialism, and tourism — revisiting stereotypical images of a utopic Caribbean paradise to examine how the island's economic prosperity does not always benefit its residents. The manifestation closed with a public conversation with the artist at Buurtwerkplaats.

#37 Keti Koti Westerpark X Kevin Osepa
Buro Stedelijk, Westerpark, Amsterdam, June–July 2024
For the second edition of Keti Koti Westerpark, an installation by Kevin Osepa at 'het Meterhuisje' in Westerpark. With his Afro-Curaçaoan identity as an entry point, Osepa visualizes how the reality of daily life and the magical world of the Caribbean co-exist in everyday practices of domesticity, love, and survival — taking Reckitt's Crown Blue Squares (locally known on Curaçao as blous), an everyday laundry-whitening pigment repurposed in Afro-Caribbean spiritual customs, as its entry point into the deep historical entanglements between the Caribbean and Europe.

#54 Shifting / Spirit / Time
Buro Stedelijk, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, February–April 2025
An ambitious multi-screen film installation by Julianknxx, building on his earlier performance Chorus in Flight (Manifestation #51). Developed through the artist's ongoing practice of revisiting places and people for collaboration, the work extended the earlier performance's exploration of memory, mourning, and diasporic testimony into a fuller, spatial presentation for the Central Space.

#49 SISTAAZ OF THE CASTLE
Buro Stedelijk, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, December 2024
A screening of SISTAAZ OF THE CASTLE, hosted by Duran Lantink and Jan Hoek, following their long-term collaboration with Cape Town-based collective SistaazHood. The film centres on Sistaaz’ self-organised, self-designed fashion spectacle and their lives around the Castle of Good Hope, celebrating their distinctive sense of style while challenging labels around trans identity, sex work, and homelessness.
The evening included a performance by Kaiden Ford, an introduction by Mercy St. J, and a closing conversation between Jan Hoek, Duran Lantink and Nina666.

#43 (Where and for Whom?) Listening to the Absences
Buro Stedelijk, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, November 2024–January 2025
The fifth group show in the Central Space, with Simomo Bouj, Va-Bene Elikem Fiatsi (aka crazinisT artisT), and Martin Toloku. The three artists grappled with what it means to be visible — reframing the "gaze," and asking to whom we are seen and by whom we remain unseen — proposing that resistance can mean reshaping the gaze rather than avoiding it. The opening featured a live performance by Simomo Bouj, and the show was accompanied by two further Thursday evenings: SISTAAZ OF THE CASTLE, with SistaazHood, designer Duran Lantink, and artist Jan Hoek, and Repainting Subway Art, with graffiti artist Tripl/Furious.

#26 Script 1: Whispers (Tell The Waters What The Clay Kept Secret II)
Buro Stedelijk, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, May–July 2024

Hassanain shared ongoing visual research into the spatial implications of catastrophe, zooming in on an intimate "site of catastrophe": her grandmother's house. The opening featured a reflection by Quinsy Gario, and the manifestation later closed with a reflective conversation, Reflections on Script 1, bringing together Hassanain, Gario, and Rita Ouédraogo.

Reading group: Goddess Change
Buro Stedelijk, Stedelijk Museum, October 2023–November 2025
Initiated by artists Anna Hoetjes and Müge Yılmaz, Goddess Change continued at Buro Stedelijk as a series of nine speculative fiction reading groups between March 2024 and November 2025, centred around Octavia E. Butler’s Parable of the Sower. Hosted by Hoetjes and Yılmaz, the gatherings welcomed Marly Pierre-Louis, Nat Muller, Fiep van Bodegom, Adriana Knouf, Ilga Minjon, Anna Arov, Pırıltı Onukar and Camille Sapara Barton as guest speakers.
Taking its title from Butler’s recurring idea that “God is Change,” the series created a space for collective reading and conversation around change, survival, community, collapsing systems, and the possibilities of building anew. Throughout the gatherings, 2024, the year in which Butler’s novel begins, served as a recurring point of reflection, shifting over the course of the series from an imagined future to the present and, eventually, the past.
The programme expanded beyond the reading groups with Cosmic Entanglements, a film evening with works by Larissa Sansour, Patricia Domínguez and Black Quantum Futurism, exploring alternative relationships to time, space, possible futures and communal relations to nature.
The series concluded with a final reading group with Marly Pierre-Louis in November 2025.

Buro Stedelijk, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, February–March 2024
A video and installation work by performance artist and sculptor Miles Greenberg, shown to European audiences for the first time. The Central Space held an immersive pool installation flanked by video projections documenting Greenberg's 7-hour durational performance TRUTH (Powerhouse Arts, New York, 2023), eight sword-wielding performers painted in black oil, dueling in a vermilion-colored pool, accompanied by a soundtrack by Chino Amobi. Visitors were invited to wade through the shallow water, implicating their own bodies in the installation. The opening evening featured a musical performance by Bnnyhunna with tunes by 1.06 Music Library.

#16 Descent into Fungal
Buro Stedelijk, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, November 2023–January 2024
The third group show in the Central Space, with Milena Anna Bouma, Don Yaw Kwaning, Andrey Shental, and design brand YUME YUME. Centred on a living mycelium installation developed specifically for the space, the exhibition explored fungal networks as models for communication, memory, and collectivity beyond the human.
Every Thursday evening for the duration of the show, a different artist, designer, poet, or thinker took over the space to collectively tend to the mycelium, with both museum visitors and the mycelium itself as audience. The rotating weekly caretakers included Queer Choir Amsterdam (opening performance), Ranie Ribeiro (harp), Özgür Atlagan, Donghwan Kam, and Kanitha Tith (Circle Dance the Fungal), S*an D. The spatial design was developed by Frédérique Albert-Bordenave.

Buro Stedelijk, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, August–October 2023
A residency-style manifestation with Marcel van den Berg, Kevin Osepa, and Mirre Yayla Séur relocating their studios into the Central Space, inviting the public into their live creative process rather than a fixed exhibition. The manifestation challenged conventional modes of exhibiting by treating the artwork as ongoing and unfrozen — observed, shuffled, remixed, rehearsed, and rested in real time.
